A big risk I decided to take last year, November 2011 is cutting my hair into a classic short cut. In a generation where long hair is always accepted I tried to go beyond the stereotypes and make a drastic change to cut my hair. Making such a change requires you to have a lot of self-confidence in your beauty. It was hard a first because I would get a lot of compliments, but at the same time I would have people tell me I looked better with longer hair. However, my decision was a GREAT choice I made and I feel extremely happy & confident with my short hair. Among those who have taken that risk in their career were stars like Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, and Dawn Richard. These are some of the celebs I look up to and inspired me to cut my hair. So if you feel a need and want to change up your appearance, GO FOR IT. Who cares what others think about it, it matters essentially what you want to do!

Looking through the magazine’s of Teen Vogue the staff is pretty much designated into different sections for the magazine, especially the editors. Including the editors who focus more on beauty, fashion, or horoscopes/miscellaneous. One thing I noticed in each of these magazines has been a contributing writer added to stories the regular staff members have written. Even on the online magazine they have bloggers contribute with their ideas mainly on fashion. For the query letter for my profile piece, I might change who I am addressing my letter to, depending on which section my article would fit under. There are articles written by contributors that are given recognition in the table of contents. I feel this is a great way for newbies to feel more comfortable with submitting their articles or ideas to the magazine.
